Sandy's Non-Fiction |
Sandy McCall Smith, as you will know if you have read the preceding pages, not only has a doctorate in law, but was an academic in the field of law for his whole career, until he left in the noughties to become a full time author. As with all academics, he has been expected to regularly publish in peer reviewed journals. Additionally, and unsurprisingly from what we know of Sandy, he has also published a couple of books.
Further, as you will also know if you've read anything about Sandy, his tastes are rather eclectic, so he has also written some other non-fiction books about various matters. The oldest article we've been able to track down is the beguilingly named "A legal dissertation on fleas", in the South African Law Journal in 1975. It just makes you want to read it. Well, perhaps not you, but it does us. Sandy's ability at picking interesting titles obviously started when he was quite young. Sadly, we can't read it without forking out about $30, and we're afraid that's outside our budget. Sorry, Sandy. Anyway, here's a list we've been able to gather from here and there. We make no pretensions about it being complete, or up-to-date. If you have materials we can add, whizz their references through and we'll add 'em in. We've underlined book titles and magazine names, and we've italicised chapter and article names in the Lexian Notation System. If we've made any mistakes, please correct us. In case you don't notice, we've listed them in what we know of their date of publication, from most recent to, we guess rather obviously, least recent (at the time of writing, 2015). |
NOTE: These are organic chais, not straight rooibos - meaning they're mixed with various spices. That's OK, if that's what you like, of course. We also note they're not free trade, as far as we can tell.
Oh, and despite our attempt to do all the right things (we think?!) the clickies down below are only right for the middle choice. You might just need to do a little extra on-site clicking to reach the others. Sorry! We're working on it. Well, I will be, when I get the time! |
